Heartland Hospice is looking for volunteers interested in visiting with military veteran patients. Military and civilian individuals alike are welcome to reminisce, share war stories, and/or participate in individualized military pinning ceremonies honoring and thanking each Veteran and their family for their sacrifice and service. We also have pinning ceremonies for our Veteran's that you could be a part of.
Volunteers decide their own schedule and can visit in throughout the week and the weekend. This opportunity is a wonderful way to help veterans in your community, gain experience in healthcare and simply brighten someone's day.
For more information, please call Lori Case, Volunteer Coordinator at (517) 24409494.

Description
Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide sensitivity and support for people in the final phase of a terminal illness. Hospice care seeks to enable patients to carry on an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that the last days may be spent with dignity and quality at home or in a home-like setting. It is the goal of Heartland Hospice to provide palliative and supportive services to meet physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs to the patients and caregivers in the home, health care facilities, or other residential settings. These services will be provided without regard to race, religion, gender, creed, sex or ability to pay.
