Volunteer and Internship positions available! MADD volunteers and interns have the unique opportunity to take an active role in making America safer while supporting those who have been impacted by impared driving.

Each volunteer and intern can tailor his/her job description to enure that they receive the most personally rewarding volunteer experience while positively impacting our community! These opportunities are perfect for socially minded community members, college students, and retired professionals. Everyone has a place at MADD! Read below for a description of some of our volunteer/intern job descriptions.

Power of Parents: MADD’s ongoing cornerstone program that aims to outreach to parents and provide them with tools and techniques to have conversations with their teens about underage drinking and the dangers that alcohol poses to minors. Since parents are the number one influence on their teen’s decision to use alcohol, we educate parents through a 30 minute seminar and provide them with proven resources to support them in their conversations as a family. MADD is always searching for more passionate voices to become trained facilitators!
Skills and talents: public speaking, community outreach, presentation logistics

Court Monitoring: MADD’s court monitoring program works to gather information on how DUI laws are being enforced. We monitor the DUI cases that flow through our judicial system. We research, analyze and actually go to court and watch the judicial process play out. MADD welcomes advocates who are passionate about criminal justice who seek to be trained court monitors.
Skills and talents: research, judicial outreach, attention to detail, critical thinking

DUI Law Enforcement Recognition Dinner & Awards Ceremony: One of MADD’s signature events, this awards dinner & silent auction is organized to celebrate and honor the heroic work of DUI law enforcement officers and agencies.
Skills and talents: marketing/promotions, special event planning, logistics, donation solicitation and community outreach

Candle Light Vigil-Celebration of Life: An evening of music, candlelight and reflection to celebrate the lives of those injured and killed by impaired driving; to alert the public to the dangers of drunk and impaired driving and express hope for a less violent future for all. MADD welcomes planning committee members who are passionate about people. The 2015 Candlelight Vigils for Phoenix and Tucson will be held December 3, 2015.
Skills and talents: marketing/promotions, special event planning, donation solicitation and community outreach.

Power of You(th): MADD’s second prong to youth and provide them with tools and techniques to resist underage drinking and other drugs, help influence their peers not to drink and educate them on the dangers that alcohol poses to minors. This simple, but powerful PowerPoint presentation was designed by youth to reach youth and will provide them with proven resources to support them in their goal to remain alcohol and drug free. MADD is always searching for more passionate voices to become trained facilitators!

Walk Like MADD - The signature walk of Mothers Against Drunk Driving is a fun, community-driven 5K event that raises funds and saves lives. Every step taken and every dollar raised supports MADD’s initiatives in Arizona. The 2015 Walks are scheduled for September in Tucson and October in Phoenix. MADD welcomes planning committee members who are passionate about marketing/promotions, solicitations/fundraising, sponsorship development, participant recruitment and special event planning/coordination.
Skills and talents: self-motivated, creative, enthusiastic, special event planning, communications, community outreach.

Founded in 1980 by a mother who lost her daughter in a crash, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is the nation’s largest nonprofit organization working to protect families from drunk driving and underage drinking. With the help of those who want a safer future, MADD’s Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving will end this danger on American roads. MADD’s Power of Parents, It’s Your Influence offers research-proven strategies to help parents keep their children safe from the dangers of underage drinking. One of the largest victim services organizations in the U.S., MADD also supports drunk driving victims and survivors - serving one person every 10 minutes - at no charge.
