Soap Carving at Mud Mania
Soap Carving was one of the many activities available for children (and adults) at last year's Mud Mania event.

Mud Mania: A Celebration of Adobe is Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site's big summer event. We draw an audience of 600-800 people, mostly families with children, who play games, make crafts, and participate in various activities related to mud, the main ingredient of adobe, from which the 175-year-old historic home is built.

We need volunteers to help with set-up and tear-down, with overseeing crafts, activities, and games, and to help guide visitors into and around the site.

Volunteers can work all day, morning, or late morning through afternoon shifts.

Mission Statement

The mission of Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site is to restore and preserve the structure and grounds; collect appropriate resources; and interpret the relationship of the Rancho's diverse peoples to the development of the Long Beach area.
