Interlock Media, based in East Cambridge, MA, is a non-profit film company that is dedicated to promoting solutions to environmental and human rights challenges. We support informed empowerment at the grassroots and policy level by producing educational, documentary and dramatic media works.

We are seeking a volunteer Emerging Editor who will work closely with the director and the Senior Editor to assist in all aspects of post-production. Applicants must have formal training / experience on Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer or Final Cut Pro 7 or X or similar NLE. Knowledge of After Effects or Apple Motion a plus - as would some experience with other programs such as ProTools, Audition, iZotope etc. for sound, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.for graphics, Boris, GenArts, Red Giant etc. Candidates should also be comfortable with the technical aspects of post-production equipment as some troubleshooting will be required. Intensive critique on artistic and technical approaches to documentary cutting will be given.

Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude are ideal. Applicant should possess the ability to work independently, remain flexible and take initiative in a resource-limited environment.

Hours: Part-time, minimum 20 hours per week.

Description

Interns participate in all aspects of film and media production, including: research writing coordination of crews participation in shoots participation in film editing scriptwriting production of print materials any task that may arise

Salary: None Qualifications:

Interns must have strong communication skills, a desire to learn, and a pro-active attitude. The following skills and experience are preferred, but not required: superior writings skills technical ability computer skills (mac platform) experience with camera, lighting, or other gear.
