Do you love working with children? Help create a safe space for parents accessing classes, groups, or services to leave their children!

• Learn supportive crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques to help support children and parents who have experienced trauma or family violence

Position Responsibilites

• Follow agency guidelines as you interact with clients and maintain a child-centered environment, demonstrating healthy communication skills and practicing conflict resolution
• Help plan and implement developmentally-appropriate recreational activities that prepare children emotionally, physically, cognitively, and socially for school
• Keep the playroom areas clean, safe, and well-organized

• Enjoy working with children, have experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
• Excellent communication and people skills, including emotional stability and patience
• Ability and willingness to listen actively and respond appropriately to children and parents
• Ability to work with diverse teams and clients to foster a culturally inclusive environment

Availability

• 2-3 hour shift two or more times a month for a minimum of four months, with flexible options

• Attend Tubman’s Volunteer/Intern Orientation and Training series
