Project Coordinator

MySahana is a 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing awareness about mental health, emotional health and well-being in the South Asian community. Through easy-to-understand descriptions of emotional health issues, educational workshops and culturally sensitive coping strategies, we hope to empower the South Asian community to realize their inner fortitude, take charge of their mental health and make better and more informed decisions for a healthy lifestyle.

We are looking for a Project Coordinator who will work under the supervision of our Project Managers to monitor and track the completion of internal projects, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.

This is an unpaid, volunteer position. You will work at our Fremont office along with the rest of the MySahana team for approximately 6-8 hours per week. We require a 6 month minimum time commitment. By volunteering for us, you will gain hands on experience in a fast-growing nonprofit, have ample opportunities to hone your skills, get a letter of recommendation, and a chance to serve the community!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing materials, presentations, donor/volunteer communication material
  • Track and monitor project progress and report on project status weekly
  • Engage in a dynamic and fast-paced project timeline by proactively communicating project status and risks to the supervising Project Manager
  • Assist Project Managers with production of timely, detailed summaries and high-level reports to provide key information to stakeholders within the organization
  • Plan and execute outreach as well as fundraising events throughout the year
  • Attend outreach events and serve as the liaison between the organization and the community
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional internal/external teams
  • Perform any administrative/operational tasks as requested by the supervising Project Manager

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or related field
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant project management experience
  • High level of proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Google docs, Photoshop, Illustrator, AV support
  • Highly organized and motivated with strong analytical and follow-up skills

Description

MySahana, a nonprofit that won the ICC Seva Award for the most innovative nonprofit, is dedicated to correcting misinformation about mental health in the South Asian community. The idea is that by providing education, South Asians can learn to recognize for themselves when to seek professional help which will create a long standing change in the community on how mental health is viewed.

To do this, we are looking for hardworking, dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic interns and volunteers to work on a wide variety of projects.
