The 5th Annual Christmas in July hosted by Sen. Holly Mitchell is a one-day event devoted to bringing fun, education, free resources and services to working class families and children in the 26th Senate District this summer. Jumpstart will be running a Reading Garden in which volunteers will greet and read to families and children.
Shift 1: 9:00 AM-12:00PM
Shift 2: 11:30AM-2:30PM
*12 volunteers needed for each shift
Free churros, funnel cake, lemonade and other beverages will be available throughout the event.

Description
Each year, one third of America's children arrive on their first day of school without the skills necessary to succeed at grade level. When children begin behind their peers, catching up, especially without additional assistance, is difficult and unlikely. By focusing on enriching the education of preschool students from disadvantaged communities, Jumpstart is making sure every child has a chance at success. Jumpstart is a national nonprofit dedicated to inspiring children to learn, adults to teach, families to get involved, and communities to progress together.
