Email Marketing Volunteer

Position Summary

The marketing specialist will be responsible for online marketing for the Home School Association for Military Families (HSAMF). The candidate for this position reports to the HSAMF Executive Director.

Essential Functions:

• Build, launch and monitor marketing campaigns

• Update/maintain Marketing Calendar of events

• Grow subscriber base / program membership

• Grow email outreach program in general: create an editorial calendar to track campaigns and ensure consistent cadence.

• Improve tracking: gain ability to drill down new and returning traffic, unique engagement

• Work with program leaders to develop communication calendar

Requirements:

Strong written, verbal, organizational skills a must. Preferred knowledge of marketing, journalism, or communications. Strong editing and proofreading skills. Excellent grasp of communications trends and issues. Flexibility. Proficiency at Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Background check, online orientation training, 3 month probation period.

Qualifications:

• Experience with email marketing, landing pages, SEO and social marketing

• Knowledge of online marketing basics and best practices in areas including branding, content marketing and relationship building

• Thorough understanding of how to use digital analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to improve the effectiveness of digital campaigns

• A willingness to lead, take charge and offer opinions and direction in a positive manner

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

• Ability to organize and prioritize work on multiple projects with attention to detail

• Experience in the nonprofit sector preferred but not required
