We could never do the good works we’ve been doing since 1970 without the help of a small army of volunteers.
Year round, we have volunteers at our Book Loft, a pleasant office/warehouse (climate controlled!) on the Great Miami River at 2181 Embury Park Road. (Between the police station for Metro Parks and an office of the nice folks at Ferguson Construction.)
That’s where we collect, sort, price and pack books for the sale. We consider our Book Loft volunteers our "staff" and we seek their input as we have found that collecting the books (and the sale) is always a "work in progress." The busiest days for us at the Loft are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.- but we are also open Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. If we have the staff to support it, we could be open more hours.
Our volunteers range in age from 20 to 90+. We come from all walks of life, and we share in common our mutual love of books.
There are many different tasks available at the Loft, and volunteers often find one task that they are particularly suited for, but everyone is welcome to perform a variety of activities.

Mission Statement
"The mission of the Book Fair Foundation, Inc. is to receive and collect donated books which we resell through an annual book fair and other channels in order to raise money for a variety of charitable interests. In addition, we also redistribute donated books to schools, clinics, nursing homes, soup kitchens, the county jail, and other entities where books are needed."
Description
The Book Fair Foundation collects donations of books, CDs, DVDs, records, puzzles and games year-round which are priced, sorted and packed for our annual sale in November at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Each year we choose three local non-profit groups to share from the proceeds of the sale. We have supported local groups for over five years; we have 45 years of supporting a single charity, for which we raised over two million dollars.
