Are you fluent in English and another language? Are you looking for ways to use your language skills to make a difference in your community and country? If yes, then the National Language Service Corps (NLSC) may be for you!

The NLSC has received a language support request from a federal agency looking for Norwegian speakers to provide court interpretation and translation in Hurlburt, Florida.

NLSC Membership Qualifications Requirements

This opportunity would require you to become a member of the NLSC. There is no membership fee to join the organization, and all members of the NLSC are volunteers, but receive a stipend for all/any hours of service, and all travel expense are covered by the NLSC. This is not a full-time or part-time position. By becoming a member of the NLSC, you may have an opportunity to participate in short-term assignments as needed by the organization. Interested applicants must be:

• Fluent in English and Norwegian
• 18 years of age or older
• US Citizen
• If you are a male, you must have registered for Selective Service

Norwegian Court Interpretation and Translation Assignment Requirements:

• Professional translation experience Norwegian < > English
• Professional interpretation experience Norwegian < > English
• Willingness to be hired as a temporary federal employee
• Willingness to take a formal language proficiency test
• Court certified and registered
