The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Southeast Texas 5K walk has an opportunity and a need for a volunteer Entertainment Chair. This person(s) would be responsible for recruiting and planning the following for the day of the event:
1) 1 to 2 local bands who would donate their performance, which would take place after the walk begins and continue until after participants cross finish line. Ideas include:
- Local Bands - type of music to be approved by Event Manager
- Local Singers
2) Recruit and place 3 to 4 local groups who would be positioned along the walk route and would provide some sort of entertainment for participants. This could be musical, cheering, or other types of fun entertainment. This too needs to be donated or lowest cost possible. Some ideas would include:
- University quartets like singers, musicians, etc.
- Cheerleaders who would cheer on crowds
- Unique attractions - someone mentioned a "Bubble Bus" or street performers
