Volunteer Activities: The Forward youth group’s mission is "Moving forward to change the way we view healthy relationships." This group of young adults work together to brainstorm ways to send messages about healthy relationships to their peers as part of a campaign to end teen dating violence. The group meetings vary based on the time of year but currently occur weekly on Fridays from 4:30-6pm. Currently the group is developing their social norms campaign and will be creating social media campaign messaging, a website, posters, and videos. We need youth to join this effort and work on these projects.
Time Commitment: 1.5 hrs per week
Time Frame: at least 6 month
Availability: Fridays 4:30 pm - 6 pm
Location: Uptown
Notes: this opportunity is only for volunteers ages 18 to 24
About the Organization: Mecklenburg County Community Support Services offers assistance to domestic victims, offenders and child witnesses, veterans, homeless individuals and individuals living in targeted neighborhoods.

Throughout the year, Hands On Charlotte (a program of United Way of Central Carolinas) provides direct volunteer service to the community. We help homeless families, guide at-risk youth, tutor disadvantaged children, feed the hungry, care for our environment and so much more. Our volunteers address our community's needs through direct service. Hands On Charlotte offers a variety of meaningful volunteer projects that benefits the citizens of Charlotte. We provide volunteers with flexible volunteer opportunities to create positive change. We simplify the process by organizing and promoting dozens of opportunities each month.
