Life coaches are to be selected/appointed by the director and will be given special training and directions

Obtain client’s folder from greeter

Make sure you have an up-to-date KIC-IT resource manual. Several desk copies are available at the drop-in center. These cannot be taken home.

LC discusses client behavior contract and ensure clients understand, sign and date. MUST be completed before moving forward.

Update all contact & demographic information in Charity Tracker

Assess what brought them into to drop-in center

Identify short term and long term goals using MAPS or SMART Goals form

Utilize budgeting spreadsheet if client requests monies for deposit/rental/utility assistance

Assess education, job, and housing status as well as food, clothing, hygiene, linen needs

If client is in need of food/clothing/hygiene/linens and hasn’t done so already, have them complete the CLIENT RESOURCE form (on the back of SIGN IN SHEET) and hand off to Distribution Attendant, if available. If not, direct client to have a seat in the large room and pull the items needed from pantry.

Description

Kids In Crisis-Intervention Team (KIC-IT) is a non profit organization that seeks to help the youth of Johnson County, ages 16-25, who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. The KIC-IT drop in center provides emergency food, hygeine items, rent/utility assistance, staffing/food pantry/mental health referrals, and much needed one on one counseling from trained life coaches. The drop in center is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-6:30 and a hot meal is provided each day for anyone who wants to come in.
