2017 River Cats Independence Field - Baseball for All

Spring 2017 River Cats Independence Field Baseball Program - Volunteer as a Freedom Fan, a wheelchair softball Freedom Fan or Coach to assist youth and adults with intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities play the great game of baseball!

Freedom Fans are volunteers ages 15 and older that pair one on one with River Cats Independence Field ballplayers. Responsibilities include assisting with mobility, fielding, and other participation for the ballplayer's who benefit from this support. May include getting in a sports wheelchair and playing alongside athletes that use wheelchairs

Wheelchair Softball Freedom Fan are volunteers age 16 and older that will assist in Wheelchair Softball practice, scrimmage, and tournament play. Responsibilities include, assist with equipment set up and take down, play on field, may include getting in a sports wheelchair and playing alongside athletes that use wheelchairs

Coach - Responsible for working with an assistant coach to teach the basic skills of Baseball, encourage fair play and teamwork, and have FUN! Must arrive 15 minutes prior to your players.

All Games will be played at River Cats Independence Field 2450 Meadowview Road, Sacramento, CA 95832. Check www.accessleisuresac.org for current schedule prior to submitting your volunteer application to assure you are available for games dates and times.

Saturdays June 3 & 17 (No program on June 10 - Adaptive Swim Program @ Pannell CC

Saturday, June 24th - Final game and awards

*10:00AM Practice/ 11:00AM Game Time ages 5-13 - (9:30-12:00) Volunteer hours

*12:00PM Practice / 1:00PM Game Time ages 14 and older - (12:00-2:00) Volunteer hours
