In order to protect the Rose Valley Creek riparian buffer completed by the Ambler EAC in 2011, we will be learning how to remove invasive plants such as Japanese Stiltgrass. These invaders have taken over several areas of the park and are outcompeting their native counterparts.
On Saturday, September 24 th from 9 AM to 11 AM, volunteers age 14 and older are invited to gather at the Tennis Avenue entrance to Ambler Borough Park (near 130 Tennis Ave) to do some easy work to remove the invasive weed called Japanese Stiltgrass. With a large group working together we can knock out most of this invasive weed in just a few hours! It is very easy to pull by hand.
Please email karenforambler@gmail.com to sign up to help keep the park beautiful. Volunteers will need to sign a Hold Harmless Agreement (students will need a Parent’s signature).
Wear gloves or we can supply you, and bring water!
Thank you!
Stay tuned for more beautification volunteer opportunities!
