FAQs

  • What should we prepare? Meals can be simple or complex. It's really up to you. All we ask is that you tell us ahead of time so we can avoid duplicating meals.
    • Some groups go simple. Others go all out. But most groups fall somewhere in the middle with things like hot dog bars, pizza & salad, spaghetti, breakfast for lunch, tacos, etc.
  • When should we get there to serve? Lunch is served at 11:30am You should come in as early as needed to prepare the meal. The kitchen is available as early as 8am, but most groups come in around 10am.
  • How many kids are we serving? We'll be able to give you a better number once we are closer to that week, but I would anticipate feeding 40 youth and 5 youth staff.
  • What about food allergies? Most students with life-threatening allergies bring their own food. If we think that you'll need to bring an alternative meal for 1 or 2 students, we'll be sure to let you know.
  • Why is this important? About 90% of students we serve rely on school feeding programs. However, when school is closed, access to regular meals diminishes. We are stocked in breakfast items, but would like to help students in receiving lunch as well.
