Description
Volunteers present information about the Red Cross' Services to Military Families (SMF) to members of local military units and their families via on-site speaking presentations and exhibitions. Other special project work available during office hours.
Time Commitment: Flexible.
Help needed at Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) near Gahanna. Volunteers asked to make 3-4 briefing per month, up to 15 minutes in length to military members and families.
Also needed: Help with information fairs and unit briefings (scheduled by request).
Skills
- Volunteers should: * Be familiar with Red Cross history, purpose and understanding of the congressional mandate to provide services to members of the Armed Forces; * Ability to speak before potentially large groups; * Willingness to travel within the jurisdiction of Franklin, Fayette, Madison and Pickaway Counties with own transportation (mileage reimbursement available); * Ability to carry 10 - 25 lbs. short distances; * Ability to operate overhead/PowerPoint projector
