The Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) teaches volunteers the emotional first aid skills needed in order to go out into the community to provide emotional and practical support to someone who has just experienced a traumatic event. TIP volunteers are called in at the request of greater Portland area first responders and staff at Maine Medical Center. TIP services are available 24/7 and 365 days a year and we are at the scene of an event within 20-30 following a request for services.
