Research has shown that music has a profound effect on our well-being. Hospice patients are no exception. At Seasons, we make a difference every day to patients and families coping with terminal illness while creating a center of excellence in hospice care. As a music companion volunteer you will partner with our music therapist or other support care team member to provide music that brings enjoyment, perhaps a positive well-being and much life enrichment. The ideal volunteer should enjoy singing, playing an instrument, or sharing recorded music with others.
Hospice volunteers experience a great deal of satisfaction from their service and with the patients they visit. We do hope that new volunteers will make a commitment and dedicate 3-4 hours per month to volunteering. Seasons Hospice matches our volunteer with patients who live in their town or surrounding towns and we always work around personal or professional schedules.
Many patients and families are forever changed by their hospice volunteer. Comprehensive hospice training and orientation is provided, free of charge, as well as ongoing support and hospice education opportunities. Should you have any questions, or need further information, please contact Carolyn Young, Volunteer Services Coordinator at 888-523-6000 or visit www.seasons.org.
