This is a family friendly event! Volunteers under the age of 18 are welcome and encouraged to volunteer.
What is a Color Run?
This is not your normal 5k! Be prepared to be doused in colored paint throughout the course of the run (don't worry, it is washable!)!
Why "Color Me Free"?
We believe that every child deserves to be free. At Georgia Cares, we strive to bring hope, build resilience, and give every child the opportunity to thrive. Child Victims of Sex Trafficking and Exploitation are robbed of the freedom to make choices, have a voice, and live their life without the horrors of abuse and rape. These victims are modern day slaves and are robbed of their basic human right to freedom. Our goal is to give them their freedom back- and assist them in becoming healthy, productive members of society.
How You Are Helping
Since 2009, the number of youth referred to Georgia Cares has tripled! As the referrals increase, so does our need to be able to provide services and supports to these survivors. By running in the race, volunteering time, or becoming a sponsor, you are directly helping serve victims of Sex Trafficking and Exploitation in Georgia. Money raised will help connect youth to resources such as residential services, educational supports, therapy, and daily needs that so many of our youth lack, such as food and clothing.
For more informaton or to RSVP for a volunteer opportunity, email Sara Riesing, Outreach Coordinator, at sriesing@gacares.org. You are welcome to RSVP for multiple people.
