We provide the tools. All you need to do is show up. We match each Mentor with a 4 th grade student. Each month the Mentors arrive 15 min prior to their Mentoring time and we have a short training over our Leadership Letter of the month, based on our acrostic LEADERS. Academy 4 meets once a month on a Friday. See our website for dates.
The Mentor and student take 10 minutes for a puppet show and an activity that reinforces our letter of the month. (example: L= Listen. The Mentor and student would work through some activites on listening.) Then the Mentor and student have free time to talk and play board games or work on a craft.
After the Mentor time the student proceeds to their enrichment Clubs and the mentor is free to leave.

Description
Academy 4 takes place one Friday each month for 9 months during the school year. Fourth grade students, mentors, and volunteers gather on the school campus during the school day for a fun-filled time of leadership training and relationship building. Each Academy 4 session is comprised of three different activity times; Clubs, Leadership Training, and Quality Time with Mentors.
