About Bay Ridge Center
Location:
411 Ovington Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237, US
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide services and programs for older adults of southwest Brooklyn that promote their well being, support their independence and encourage their involvement in community life.
Description
The Bay Ridge Center was founded in 1976 by Rev. Darrell Helmers, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, as the Bay Ridge Nutrition and Home Care Program. From those humble beginnings, today we serve over 6,000 older adults a year, and another 3,000 individuals and families under the age of 60. But our mission remains the same: to assist the needy, improve the quality of life for older adults, and enable those at risk to remain in their homes and neighborhood
The Bay Ridge Center operates under an independent Board of Directors, with input from our Community Advisory Board, Senior Advisory Board, and Staff.
