We are looking for a volunteer eager to join a young, relevant, and thriving organization. Alianzas de Phoenixville works to advocate for an expanding and more present Latino population in Phoenixville.
This opportunity is specifically aimed towards certified public accountants. This position is integral as we continue to apply for a 501(c)(3) status. The CPA will assist us through the process and continue to work after we have received the status.

Mission Statement
Alianzas de Phoenixville’s mission is to promote collaboration among Phoenixville community leaders and volunteers to equip and enhance the Latino/Hispanic Community with improved access to local resources, advocacy and intercultural communication between Latino/Hispanic and the broader community.
Description
Alianzas Latino Outreach carries out this mission through:
ADVOCACY
Due to language barriers and immigration status, many Latino families in our area live in substandard conditions. The Latino Outreach Advocate helps to families connect to resources and representation that will hold landlords accountable for fair and decent housing conditions. In the same manner, individuals experiencing unfair labor practices such as withholding pay have a voice and mediator through the Advocate.
MEDIATION
Between local agencies and institutions like that of the Phoenixville Area School District and the Phoenixville Hospital. Due to the lack of bilingual work force, the Advocate is solicited in helping with the processes involving Latinos and the services they offer along with document and policy translations in order to better serve the Latino Community.
WORKSHOPS AND INFORMATIONALS
With partnerships such as the one with Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition, we are able to provide valuable, trusted information and education concerning immigration rights and passage toward legal status, help with the new DACA legislation and the anticipated Drivers Legislation Bill for Undocumented individuals.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Established programs such as Penn State Nutrition Links and Strengthening Families Program are brought to Phoenixville by in collaboration with the Outreach program to aid in the overall health of the Latino community through healthy eating and Behavioral wellness sessions designed to strengthen families physically, socially and emotionally. In addition, Phoenixville Hospital and a local Hispanic Doctor collaborate in addressing health concerns of the Latino population.
EDUCATION
Our ongoing ESL program headed by certified ESL volunteer teachers and collaboration of the PASD offers Latinos and other nationalities basic conversational Engl0ish twice a year in 8 session classes. The Read-Aloud Program is offered to parents as they become more proactive in their children’s literacy.
EL PUENTE NEWSLETTER
Our bi-monthly publication keeps the Latino community informed as to the latest resources, programs and events in our local area and aids in bridging the cultural gaps that exist in our community.
The Outreach Program
is backed by Alianzas de Phoenixville, a 19 member volunteer committee with representatives from agencies and organizations such as: Maternal Child and Health Consortium, Chester Counseling Services, Kiwanis International, Phoenixville Public Library, Phoenixville Area School District, The Phoenixville Community Health Foundation, The Clinic, Health Care Access, St Ann Church, Phoenixville Area Community Services, Chester County Health Dept, and Chester County OIC.
