Mission Statement

Incorporated in August of 1948, The Deer Park Fire Company’s current mission is to provide the citizens and emergency workers of Cherry Hill Township and its surrounding mutual aid communities in five counties with a three piece rehab and canteen unit. We will go wherever we are needed. We take great pride in "Serving Those Who Serve."

Description

The term "rehab" is a shortened version of the term describing the service that we provide; which is emergency scene rehabilitation. Our members respond to the scene of all types of emergencies to provide support for 1st responders that are engaged in firefighting, large scale medical emergencies (motor vehicle crashes), police department activities (barricaded suspect, missing person searches, water rescues, etc.), building collapses, large scale evacuations, and a multitude of other events that may require us to support Fire, Police, EMS, and civilian personnel at the scene.
This "support" is in the form of providing hot and cold liquids (rehydration), light snack foods, hot foods, rest room, cooling stations with towels and water, mister fans, core cooler chairs, folding chairs, EZ Up shelters, an air supported 320 sq. ft. tent that can be heated or air conditioned, socks, spare clothing, hand and foot warmers, salt for ice control, and an AED (automatic external defibrillator), full first aid kit, and other assorted equipment and supplies to support the health and welfare of all of our 1st responders at the scene of an emergency.

Rehab 13 also provides support for special events including but not limited to Fire, Police, and EMS funerals, public education events, running events (e.g., The Jeremy Kane Memorial 5K Run), and other special events that are Fire, Police, EMS, or Military sponsored. We attend a multitude of fire and safety events every year. And, on the 2nd Friday of each month we sponsor the "Child Safety Seat Program at our station at 985 Cropwell Road. This program is a joint Cooper University Hospital, New Jersey State Police, NJ Department of Transportation, Cherry Hill Police and Cherry Fire Department joint effort. ll three of our apparatus are dedicated and equipped to provide the rehabilitation services as described above. As a 100% volunteer organization that is part of the Cherry Hill Fire Department we are always in need of additional help. If you are interested in becoming a member of this organization, please stop by the station any weekday between the hours of 0900 and 1200; or give us a call and leave a message if no one is in station. We will call you back directly.
