We are a small non-profit with offices in our homes and we are seeking a team player with some office experience to join us as a volunteer. Someone that goes the extra mile to do something correctly and accuartly and not just flying through stuff half hazzardly. We need help in our small office HIV/AIDS, STI's and Hepititas-C Education and support organization for the summer months July 1st thru September 15th. We utilize OSU Interns during school term's and we need help until they start back in September, or longer? We can see how it works out. Most of the work you can do at home, research, program development, Tabling of information, event preparation, fundraiser planning and various clerical duties. Must attend planning meetings and give your opinion, it matters. Realisticly during the summer months we are only shooting to have regular hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10am-3pm, but we realize we have to be flexiable to your schedule also. During OSU terms we have more going on, during the summer it quiets down, but there is always lots of work that needs to be done. Longer term possiable, other opportunities always present themselves from time to time. Lets chat over coffee or tea and see if its a match. Check us out on the web! http://www.valleyaidsinfo.org/

VALLEY AIDS INFORMATION NETWORK, INC. (VAIN) IS A COMMUNITY BASED HIV/AIDS ORGANIZATION SERVING LINN AND BENTON COUNTIES IN OREGON. OUR MISSION IS TWO-FOLD: To prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and hepatitis-C by providing community education programs -and- To provide support to persons living with HIV/AIDS, their families and caregivers.
Description
VAIN is a wonderful organization that has been around since 1989. We were the first organization of this kind in our area during a time when so much was not known about AIDS. We deeply care for our community and the people in it. We also care for those infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS. This disease is still very prevalent in the world and the United States. Our goal is to raise awareness of this growing issue and help to educate the members of our community and our nation, this includes children.
As a volunteer you can expect to be a part of a great team that helps in planning community fundraising events, takes part in speaking events, and participates in informational tabling events. There are excellent opportunities to learn and grow in this organization. We want to help you succeed and we feel that this can be a win win situation.
