Pints for Prostates is looking for motivated volunteers. Volunteers would work a booth at various beer festivals and brewery events across the U.S. Duties would include: selling raffle tickets and merchandise (shirts, hats, growler covers etc.), handing out information on prostate cancer and PSA testing and talking to festival attendees about Pints for Prostates mission.
Pints for Prostates reaches men through the universal language of beer to encourage them to take charge of their health.
The group was founded by prostate cancer survivor and beer writer Rick Lyke in 2008. The grassroots effort raises awareness among men about the importance of regular men’s health screenings by making appearances at beer festivals, social networking and pro bono advertising.
According to the National Cancer Institute, approximately 240,000 new prostate cancer cases are diagnosed annually in the U.S. More information is available at www.pintsforprostates.org. Pints for Prostates also has a presence on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@pints4prostates).
Pints for Prostates will be at the Oregon Brewers Fest on July 22-26 at Waterfront Park in Portland, OR.
Pouring 90 different craft beers from around the country - plus beers from New Zealand in the International Tent - the Oregon Brewers Festival is the quintessential celebration of craft beer! On a sun soaked July afternoon, there's no better place to sip suds with friends along the banks of the Willamette River, with the Portland skyline as a backdrop to the west and Mt. Hood towering in the east. Whether you prefer Belgians or Blondes, Pales or Pilsners, Saisons or Wits - come to the Oregon Brewers Festival, and see for yourself why we're one of the world's best loved craft beer festivals.
