Compass Center for Women and Families

Compass Center is seeking a volunteer advocate to provide legal advocacy and assistance to victims of domestic violence involved in the criminal and/or civil court systems.

Requirements for this position include:

- Complete 42-hotline training (or provide documentation of comparable training)
- Additional court advocacy training and shadowing
- Must be available Thursdays 8:30am-12:30pm for domestic violence court
- Transportation to Orange County Courthouse in Hillsborough required
- Experience with the justice system preferred but not required

Training will take place Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting September2019.
Paid internships are also available for this position.

The Compass Center offers information and support services for women and men in Orange County and its surrounding area. We provide financial counseling, career advising, domestic violence crisis services, legal information services, programs for adolescents, and information and referral services.
