PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Help support the State Emergency Operation Center during moderate and large-scale disasters. Represent the Red Cross to other responding NY State agencies, and communicate requests for Red Cross assistance (shelters, feeding, relief supplies) as needs are identified.
OPEN TIME DAYS
Time commitments include initial training classes with the American Red Cross and New York State Office of Emergency Management, on-going team meetings (once per month) and coverage of the EOC desk during disasters as available (12-hour shifts - day & night)
Training includes a series of Red Cross, NYS Office of Emergency Management and online FEMA courses.
