Broken Glass Cleanup along the Arizona Trail Florence-Kelvin Trailhead
Natural Restorations is teaming with the Arizona State Land Department and Pinal County Trails and Open Spaces to remove the broken glass and debris along the AZT Florence-Kelvin Trailhead on Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
*Minimum age requirement for this event is 14 years old. A responsible adult must accompany and supervise anyone under the age of 18. There is scattered trash and debris in the areas surrounding the trail that will provide experiential education opportunities for youth, scout groups and families. Please contact Nicole at contact@naturalrestorations.org for more information on opportunities for youth to participate in this volunteer event.
Volunteers should wear long pants, sturdy closed toe shoes/boots, and bring work gloves. We also encourage volunteers to bring sunscreen and hats. If you have tools, such as landscape rakes, snow/square shovels and heavy-duty buckets, bring them with you; they will help with the large piles of glass. This cleanup is going to involve a lot of bending and stooping to pick up broken glass.
Join us for a day of cleaning up broken glass piles and other debris spread throughout this beautiful section of the Arizona Trail. Help us keep Arizona beautiful and have a fun day along the AZT with a great group of people.
We are looking for an EMT or EMS/Rescue Squad to volunteer at this event, if you are interested, please contact us.
For more details including site coordinates and to register, please contact Nicole at contact@naturalrestorations.org

Mission Statement
Our mission is to remove trash, graffiti from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas, revitalize natural areas through replanting projects, and enrich the lives of military veterans and other community members.
Description
We remove trash, graffiti and anything foreign to the environment from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas throughout the state of Arizona. We replant burn scar areas by salvaging cacti that would otherwise be destroyed on construction sites and we transport them to burn scars where our team replants them. We provide contract work to Military Veterans on our Dedicated Restoration Team and host volunteer events for the community, including youth volunteers.
We have a passion for nature and we believe outdoor restorations and education ensures everyone will be able to enjoy outdoor recreation and wilderness areas. We approach every project with a commitment to long-term change and making lasting impacts in communities across the state.
We have removed over 1.5 million pounds of trash (791+ tons), planted over 53,500 trees, plants & cacti, and removed over 42,451 square feet of graffiti. We have provided over 17,400 hours of contract work to military veterans on our Dedicated Restoration Team. We have hosted over 107 volunteer events and completed over 141 restoration projects with our Dedicated Restoration Team.
