Trauma Intervention Programs of Western North Carolina is looking for caring people in Buncombe and Henderson Counties willing to be part of a team of volunteers who provide immediate emotional and practical support to survivors of traumatic events TIP volunteers are called to emergency scenes by law enforcement, firefighters and paramedics to:
Comfort family members after a sudden death
Support family members after a suicide
Help witnesses of traumatic events
Support those emotionally shaken after auto accidents
Assist tourists and travelers when tragedy strikes when they are far from home
No experience necessary but completion of a Training Academy is required. Training begins October 22nd. Click on link for more information.

Our citizen volunteers will provide emotional first aid to survivors of tragedy in order to ease their immediate suffering and facilitate their healing and long term recovery.
Description
The Trauma Intervention Program of the Treasure Valley is seeking citizen volunteers for its crisis intervention program.
Volunteers will be trained to help fellow residents who haveexperienced a tragedy in their lives. Volunteers are called to emergency scenes by deputy sheriffs,firefighters, and paramedics to assist family members after a sudden death, disoriented older persons, and victims of other crisis situations.
