Position: Graphic Design Volunteer
Organization: Compass Family Services helps homeless families and families at imminent risk for homelessness to achieve housing stability, family well-being, and self-sufficiency. We are the access point for any SF family facing a housing crisis and our services include emergency shelter, transitional housing, rental assistance, early childhood education, mental health support, in addition to a broad spectrum of counseling, parenting education, prevention, and support services.
Hours: 5-10 hours per week, 1-3 month commitment
We are looking for a Graphic Design Volunteer to help us develop our landlord outreach program. We provide temporary rental subsidies for families working toward an educational or employment goal, and we need help reaching Bay Area landlords and promoting our rental award program. This will include designs needed for paper and electronic newsletters, marketing materials such as postcards and flyers, and other promotional materials. Volunteer hours will take place initially Monday through Friday from 9-5, but could be worked on independently after office hours.
Responsibilities and Projects
*Develop promotional materials based on team’s suggestions
*Create template for quarterly newsletter
Preferred Qualifications:
*A portfolio of past work (may be student working toward degree)
*Experience working with Microsoft Publisher and/or experience in use of professional graphic design software with access to programs
*Ability to work independently
