Care Ring’s Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) is an evidence-based home visitation program for first time low-income moms. The program starts assisting moms by the 28th week of her pregnancy and continues care through the child’s 2nd birthday. The goals of NFP include: improving pregnancy outcome by supporting maternal health, improving childhood growth and development, and improving self-sufficiency of the family by promoting continuing education and planning for the future.

Volunteer translators are needed to assist with scheduling home visitation appointments over the phone, calling to confirm appointments, and assisting with translation on-site during home visitation appointments with mom, baby, and family.

Currently Seeking translators for the following languages:

  • French
  • Burmese

Requirements: 21 years or older. Valid Driver’s License. Reliable Transportation. Criminal Background Check may be requested. Proof of Training or Education in Translation/Interpretation and at least one year experience translating (in a medical or social work setting preferred).

Description

Care Ring offers the following comprehensive program and services:

Physicans Reach Out program: In partnership with the Mecklenburg County Medical Society and the Charlotte Dental Society, 1600 volunteer physicians, dentists and allied health providers provide free or low-cost healthcare for low-income indivduals who do not qualify for Medicaid and do not have access to private health insurance.

The Care Ring Low-Cost Clinic in uptown Charlotte is a solution for the uninsured who can afford modest office visit fees. Low-cost lab work is conducted on site. The clinic is open Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm for non-emergency appointments.

Nurse-Family Partnership is a national model, evidenced-based nurse home-visiting program that improves the health and well-being of first-time, low-income mothers and their children.
