Citizens Who Care For The Elderly is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization with the mission of improving the quality of life for the elderly and their caregivers.
We are looking for a female volunteer to provide respite to a family caregiver. The client is a 79-year old female who has early Alzheimer's. She loves to reminisce. She also enjoys word puzzles, walking, television, gardening and sewing. The volunteer should like dogs as they have three big overly friendly ones.

Description
We provide social support to the elderly and their caregivers in Yolo County, California: Our In Home Program provides weekly respite for caregivers and/or visits to isolated, lonely seniors. Our Saturday Club provides on-site social respite two Saturdays of the month at the Davis Senior Center. Our Convalescent Hospital Visiting & Pet Visitation Programs provide friendly visitors to socially isolated convalescent hospital residents. Our Senior Peer Counseling Program provides trained volunteer support to older adults who may be troubled by isolation, depression, loss of a loved one or other concerns of aging.
