Futurewise is seeking Outreach Interns to work closely with our staff on water and other environmental issues. We are especially looking for candidates who enjoy working with people. Work will include engaging with diverse communities within King County (bilingual a big plus), based out of Seattle. Outreach Interns will develop outreach materials (including interactive and education activities and displays), collate data, analysis and writing reports, as well as participate in outreach events. Topic areas of work include water quality, toxics, wildlife, land use, and more. Candidates will learn on-the-ground outreach skills and get connected to communities where exciting work is being done in social equity and sustainability. A commitment of eight to ten hours per week is preferred. This position is unpaid. Timeframe is winter 2015 with possibility of continuing in spring 2015. Some (limited) weekend and evening hours may be required, with advance notice.
To apply please email a resume and letter of interest to Jeanette Ordonez at jeanette@futurewise.org by Friday, January 8th . We ask that you include information on your availability.
