ORGANIZATION: Houston Food Bank

40TH ANNIVERSARY

Individuals who receive a court order to perform community service, or who must perform community service to qualify for WorkSource or Houston Housing, may complete their hours at the Houston Food Bank in a friendly, safe, climate controlled, and structured environment. Volunteer shifts are available Monday through Saturday, morning, afternoon, evening.

Founded in 1982, the Houston Food Bank’s mission is to provide food for better lives. Houston Food Bank is a certified member of Feeding America, the nation’s food bank network, with a four-star rating from Charity Navigator. Houston Food Bank is America’s largest food bank in distribution, and leads hunger relief in 18 southeast Texas counties. We distribute fresh produce, meat and nonperishables and prepare nutritious hot meals for kids in our state-of-the-art Keegan Kitchen.
