PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Preparedness Education Presenters increase community and individual abilities to prepare for, and recover from, disasters (ie fire, flood, tornado, etc.) through conducting preparedness & resiliency presentations in the community. Interested individuals need to have good written and verbal communication skills, be comfortable with public speaking and group instruction, and possess organizational skills to track attendance and record training results. A background in teaching is helpful, but not required.
OPEN TIME DAYS
1 to 5 hours per week.⦆
Flexible scheduling is necessary for presentations and events.
May include early morning, evening, or weekend hours.
REQUIRED TRAININGOrientation to American Red Cross
Successful completion of required courses (approximately 10 hours)
Training may include self-study, online, or one-on-one
