Make a big impact in someone's life! Help adults learn to speak English by serving one evening each week.
Not only will you be able to provide a bridge to the culture and primary language of the United States, you'll learn about the students' cultures as well. Volunteers can teach a group of students or assist a lead instructor with a class. The students are friendly, interesting and grateful for the time volunteers offer.
Students will attend class two mornings each week Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 AM to noon. The students are with an employee, the lead instructor for the first hour of class. Then they are divided into smaller groups, based on their ability to speak English, and taught by volunteers for the last two hours. During this time, our goal is for the students to speak as much as possible.
Our volunteers are asked to commit to teach a group of students one morning each week, Wednesday or Friday, from 10 AM to noon.
We offer these classes in every month of the year. We will be starting up a new class in mid July running until mid November. Orientation and registration is July 8th and 10th at 9:00 AM.
