mentoring

The Mentoring for Academic Success (MAS) program offers a continuum of academic support in small groups for underserved low-income students including grades 3 rd-9 th. Our tutors provide after-school tutorial services in small groups at our three centers in Berkeley, Richmond and San Mateo.

Our MAS program offers students an opportunity to improve on their math, reading and writing skills with regular work and tutorial assistance. Weekly science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) lessons and hands on activities are also included. Students establish habits of responsibility and healthy decision-making, and learn to approach their studies with enthusiasm. Students’ overall confidence increases, enabling them to challenge themselves and pursue academic excellence.
