ORGANIZATION: AmeriCorps Project YES!

AmeriCorps Project YES! in West Town is now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 program year. Project YES! members will work with children in Chicago charter schools or at a community center. Members will serve as tutors and mentors, creating volunteer opportunities for students and community members, as well as have the opportunity to partner with classroom teachers and program staff in order to enhance core curriculum and create innovative learning environments. If you are interested in community organizing and education, this opportunity should not be overlooked!

Minimum Requirements:

  • 21 years of age
  • U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject

This year’s term of service will begin on September 9, 2015 and run through July 31, 2016.

Compensation: Living Stipend of $12,530; Health Insurance; $5,730 Education Award given upon completion of the service; Invaluable training and experience

Project YES! is a proud program of the Northwestern Settlement. Project YES! connects caring adults with youth in and around the West Town community through mentorship, educational, service, artistic and recreational activities in order to support their academic achievement, provide them with positive alternatives to destructive behaviors, and foster an ethic of service in the entire community.
