Drivers are wanted to support the Skylands Tour de Cure cycling event to benefit the American Diabetes Association. Support and Gear (SAG) Vehicles will navigate parts of each of the four routes and assist cyclists who may have a flat tire or other emergency, as well as provide rest stop supplies as needed. The SAG team is one of the most important roles in ensuring the safety of all cyclists participating in the event. Each SAG driver will be paired with a HAM Radio operator who will be in communications with the Command Center and alll other SAG Vehicles. All you need is a valid driver's license. A rental vehicle will be provided for you. Breakfast and lunch provided, and all volunteers get an event t-shirt.

Description
Volunteer Power
The moving force behind our work is a network of more than one million volunteers nation wide, including a membership of 430,000 diabetes patients and their families, and a professional society of more than 18,000 physicians, scientists, certified diabetes educators, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, social workers, and educators.
In addition to our well know fund-raising events, the ADA provides learning sessions and information through a variety of community-based presentations and activities focused on reaching the diagnosed and those at high risk for diabetes. These free presentations include bi-lingual information on the importance of physical activity, making healthy food choices, food portion control and much more. Last year our outreach efforts reached several thousand people in the state of New Jersey alone. We couldn't have done this without the support from volunteers like you. Volunteering is rewarding and you can be assured that you have made a difference in someone's life.
