Outlet, a program of Adolescent Counseling Services, is recruiting a volunteer committee to assist in the planning and execution of the peninsula's best LGBTQQ party: "Out to Eat"!
This Recruitment Kick-Off event will be: Tuesday, June 30th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm!
Outlet is looking for dynamic, passionate community members to help in setting up day-of-event details, recruiting silent and live auction donations, asking prominent community sponsors to table host and to assist in community outreach to help make our event a success! This event committee will be an ongoing volunteer opportunity from June until October 2015, when the fundraising event will take place. Interested volunteers must be willing to be available for monthly meetings June-October, and on the day of the event (October 30, 2015)
If you are looking for an opportunity to serve the LGBTQQ community and love coordinating exciting fundraising parties, this is the opportunity for you!

More about the event this committee will be organizing:
Out to Eat is the Outlet program's annual gala to help support and bring awareness to the LGBTQQ youth on the Peninsula. Known as one of the most engaging and inspring LGBTQQ events in the Bay Area, Out to Eat brings together the community to support queer youth.
This year, Out to Eat will take place Friday, October 30th, 2015 at the Oshman Family JCC facility in Palo Alto. The evening includes cocktails, a sampling of delicious apppetizers, silent and live auctions, and the opportunity to socialize with local community members with a passion for youth causes.

Adolescent Counseling Services (ACS) empowers youth in our community to find their way through social-emotional support and by building safe, accepting communities.
Description
Founded in 1975, ACS currently implements four core programs in Santa Clara and San Mateo County communities:
- Community Counseling Program - Outpatient mental health assessment, treatment and education for teens and their families in the general community and at local Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula
- Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment Program - A harm reduction outpatient treatment program providing treatment to teens and families struggling with drug and/or alcohol abuse, as well as community prevention education
- Outlet - A program serving Bay Area Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTQ+) teens, families, and supportive allies with support group counseling, leadership training, and education in both Spanish and English.
- On-Campus Counseling Program - Bilingual on-site individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, mental health education, and support at no cost to students/families attending local middle and high schools
