Long Beach Dragon Boating is very popular. We meet under the second street bridge. BLINDSTART has a team of paddlers who are blind, sighted and partially sighted. They are all training to WIN!!! We have three big races coming up on our way to the world championships.
Please become aware of what you can do while blindfolded - as you learn how to be a sighted guide. Meet Ricardo, the guide dog. Help with equipment, set up, etc.

Blind Start of America is an award winning 501(c)3 non-profit organization, who's passion is bringing together sighted and visually impaired people through exciting athletic and social events like Dragon Boat Racing and the Blind Mud Run. Our mission is to provide scholarships for blind and visually impaired persons (VIPs) to develop job skills to enable them to ultimately lead lives of independence. These scholarships provide education, training, communication, transportation, adaptive equipment and technology.
Description
We raise awareness and money for visually impaired individuals. We do this by participating in marathons, dragon boat races, and mud runs.
