Check-In Volunteers
Some of last year's check-in volunteers.

The Bike-A-Thon is a social change benefit ride, and is Bikes Not Bombs largest fundraiser. Riders choose between five different route options: 10 miles, 35 miles, 50 miles, 63 miles, and 105 miles. Every route takes cyclists through some of greater Boston’s most scenic roads!

All routes include regular rest stops staffed with bike mechanics and medics, as well as plentiful drinks and healthy, energy-packed snacks to support riders on their journey! All routes begin and end at Stony Brook field in Jamaica Plain with breakfast beforehand, and a delicious lunch and fun celebration and bike expo when riders return.

Our Bike-A-Thon would not be possible without the help of 120+ wonderful volunteers and we have roles for everyone!

Pre-event roles include:
  • Staging the event
  • Distributing t-shirts to riders at our early packet pick-up event
  • Setting up the markings for each route
Day-of roles include
  • Assisting with our valet bike parking
  • Setting up the event in Stony Brook
  • Staffing food tables or info booths at the event,
  • Leading or sweeping for each of our five routes
  • Staffing the rest stops along our routes, and more!

All day-of volunteers get a free t-shirt & breakfast/lunch!
