DEADLINE: JUNE 5TH AT 11:59PM EST.
We are recruiting young men ages 18-adult to be part of our social and community service organization for up to one year. We currently have brothers in NY, NJ, PA, NC, VA, FL, Kenya and Nigeria - so brothers from any corner of the world are welcomed to apply.
To join, you MUST have a Facebook account (even if you create one just for this experience) as that is how the members of the organization fellowship. Also, our pledge process is conducted this way. You must also have an email address that you check frequently.
The organization participates in a variety of "virtual" and physical community service and social activities, as well as random acts of kindness on both virtual and physical platforms.
We will probably take up an hour of your time each week and there will be many weeks where you won't need to do anything at all. This is not the type of opportunity that one does ONLY because they need service hours for school.
Interested candidates should email telling us: (a) their name; (b) birthday/age; (c) neighborhood of residence (Crown Heights, Brooklyn) and a very short note telling us about themselves. You will have to be able to move quickly because you'll need to be added to the Facebook group right away.

Mission Statement
The mission of Sigma Theta Rho Fraternity is to build people to build communities all over the world.
Description
Our organization performs several community service projects. We have recently established online chapters to further our reach to help those who are destitute, lost and forgotten.
Our community service activities (local and national) include: packing and distributing survival kits for the homeless; mentoring teens in a runaway shelter; planning baby showers for homeless youth and mentoring them throughout their pregnancy; conducting toy and supply drives for local public schools; serving as pen pals for students in other countries; raising awareness for various non-profit organizations; supporting (by letters) our young men and women stationed in the military and more!
We welcome members from all over the world regardless of race, creed, religion or gender and are open to men and women ages 18-over. We also have a special program for youth ages 12-17.
