HOBY- NC East (Hugh O' Brian Youth Leadership Seminar) takes place at NC State University June 18th-21st. The weekend requires approximately 60 volunteers to help make it a success, 28 of which are facilitators. We have over 150 ambassadors signed up to attend this year's seminar but need facilitators!! The training session will be May 31st from 1 to 5pm at NCSU.
Facilitators act as chaperones and facilitate small groups of 10-12 students throughout the weekend. They arrive Thursday by 6pm and stay on campus for the entire weekend until 1pm checkout on Sunday.
*What is HOBY?*
The HOBY Leadership Seminar is a 3-day leadership program for rising high school juniors, called "Ambassadors". The seminar gives Ambassadors an opportunity to develop their critical thinking skills, learn about their personal leadership styles, and form an appreciation for community service. They attend sessions featuring prominent speakers and participate in leadership development activities, including a community service project. As a result of their experiences, the Ambassadors return to their schools and communities eager to make a difference and share what they have learned.
