ORGANIZATION: NORTHEAST TN RSVP

Caris’ volunteers provide an array of services. They serve hospice patients and families. From spending quality time and companionship with patients, to mowing yards, to simply running errands for a family, each action makes a difference and no amount of assistance is too small. They also serve on behalf of the hospice. Volunteers may also give time in Caris offices doing administrative tasks such as filing or answering the phones or being out in the community representing the hospice. Some may also serve on an infrequent basis but still meet unique needs. Special Project volunteers may offer their gifts, skills and resources in unique ways.

Description

Make a Difference in Your Community!

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
