ENERGY FOR LIFE WALK: CHICAGO 2012
Join us a a walker or volunteer for a specific duty

The Energy for Life Committee is a dedicated and committed group of volunteers that drives all aspects of the walk and is crucial to its success. The Committee includes two Co-Chairs, Corporate Development, Team Development, Logistics, and Media & Public Relations Chairs, along with sub-committee members that support each Chair by working on specific tasks to support the focus area.

Co-Chairs should have excellent communication and leadership abilities and be able to work well with members of their committee and delegate tasks to committee members.

The Corporate Development Chair is responsible for finding companies and businesses that want to partner with the Energy for Life Walkathon through cash sponsorship and/or forming corporate walk teams. The ideal Corporate Development Chair would be an individual who is connected in the corporate community and can open doors to those in the corporate community.

The Team Development Chair’s responsibility is to bring teams to the walk by developing and implementing a plan for retention, recruitment and mentoring of teams within designated team types. This means after a team commits to the walk, check in with them on a regular basis to motivate them to register, fundraise and recruit team members!

The Logistics Chair manages all aspects of walk day including the set-up of the site, the program of speakers and activities, start of the walk and all post walk activities, including tear down and clean-up of the walk site.

The Media & Public Relations Chair supervises the publicity committee which is responsible for many of the public relations and marking aspects of the walk including media relations, media sponsorships and public service announcements.
