The Volunteer Administrative Assistant will perform a variety of tasks in support of all Hire Our Heroes (HOH) needs. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:


  • Research for special projects
  • Manage inquiries from applicants and prospective volunteers

  • Assess interest, availability, and aptitude of individuals for available volunteer opportunities, and assign qualified volunteers to appropriate activities.

  • Manage company newsletter

  • Generate a variety of reports for senior leader use.

  • Assist in planning and coordination of events

  • Minute taking for meetings as assigned or instructed.

  • Manage inquiries from applicants and prospective employers

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Excellent writing and speaking skills.

  • Demonstrated success in project coordination, handling of multiple tasks with competing priorities, as well as ability to work in a stressful, fast pace environment

  • Skilled at maintaining databases, high comfort level with computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and willingness to learn other software programs.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Works comfortably with little to no supervision during busy times, understands sense of urgency and is a self-starter/can demonstrate initiative

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

Hire Our Heroes (HOH) was founded by veterans and is operated by those DEDICATED veterans and HOH Team of personnel who share in our vision to be a premier not-for-profit organization focused on assisting veterans through an AWARENESS campaign to secure employment; be a trusted partner to our veterans by providing "Been There, Done That" MENTORING; delivering monetary-free innovative tips, tools, and training; optimize veterans employment opportunities through our NETWORK of world-class organizations as trusted resources; create a positive INFLUENCE on the lives of veterans which will allow for replication of assistance to veterans for years to come; the eradication of veteran unemployment can only be accomplished through TEAMWORK.
