Whether your last troop meeting was yesterday or 20 years ago, you were part of something amazing. You were a Girl Scout. And wherever a Girl Scout goes, she’ll always have a network of friends to support and guide her. The time you spent in Girl Scouts prepared you to take on today, get back up if you fall, and always focus on the brighter things in life. And here’s a chance to continue your connection to Girl Scouting...

We are recruiting eight to 10 former Girl Scouts to form our council’s first-ever Young Alumnae Committee. Our ideal committee will include a mix of women ages 18 and up from across our 18-county region with a diverse set of life, educational and professional experiences.

The committee will work to establish and maintain a group of engaged young alumnae that remain connected to Girl Scouting in the years following youth membership and into adulthood. The committee will plan and execute networking events and meaningful, doable volunteering opportunities for young Girl Scout Alumnae.

Apply online by completing the form at www.gsneo.org/youngalum

Deadline to apply is June 15, 2015.

Mission Statement

Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

Description

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
