Volunteers are the life blood of Comfort Zone Camp - our camps could not happen without a large community of volunteers. We need 90 volunteers perf camp session. And, as each year our services grow, so does our need for volunteers at camp, and outside of camp.
We do not exclude staff or volunteers with disabilities. However, because the role of a volunteer can sometimes be emotionally and physically strenuous, we expect that any person volunteering at Comfort Zone will have the ability to supervise and provide safety for our campers.
We require that all volunteers attend a six-hour training prior to volunteering to gain a better understanding of childhood bereavement and volunteer expectations.
For camp weekends, volunteers need to be available from 2:30 p.m. on Friday to 4 p.m. on Sunday, unless they are assigned a Support Staff role.
Come to the training to learn more about Comfort Zone! Sign up today to get involved!

Mission Statement
Comfort Zone provides grieving children with a voice, a place and a community in which to heal, grow and lead more fulfilling lives.
Description
Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit 501(c)3 bereavement organization that transforms the lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver. Our programs are free of charge and include confidence building activities and age-based support groups that break the emotional isolation grief often brings. Comfort Zone’s programs are offered to children ages 7-17, and their families for the family programs, plus we offer young adult programs for 18-25 year olds. Held year-round across the country, our primary locations are California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina and Virginia (HQ). We also partner with organizations to serve their local or specific communities through our Partnership and Community by Design Programs.
Our Vision
Comfort Zone envisions a world where grieving children are not forgotten or left to grieve alone, and are supported by a wide community that understands and appreciates them.
